A matter of trust

Have you ever worked with a coach? How did that go for you? And if you didn’t, what is stopping you from hiring one?

Over and over, these are the comments that I hear “I’d love to work with her, but what if we’re not a good fit?” “Will I truly get the results I want?” “Will she make me do something I don’t want to?” “Is she worth what she charges?”… all valid questions, all coming down to one single theme: can I trust her?

Trust is at the core of everything we do. We marry someone because we trust (s)he is The Right Person for us. We choose a vacation destination because, from all places, we trust this is the one where we can truly relax. We buy a house not because it is perfect, but because there’s something about this one in particular that we can’t describe, that makes us trust we will be safe in it.

In this marketing age, Coaches and Counselors are advised to pump up their sales strategies: Deliver results! Increase productivity! Get more clients! Charge more per session!

That’s all very fine, if those are the tools you use to measure your professional success. Me, I define my goals as a Coach in different terms: can my clients trust me? How can I be their best support system? How can I help them surrender into this journey, so that I can hold their hand every step of the way?

I didn’t choose to become a Coach to be a millionaire. If I did, I would be in the wrong kind of business. I’m not in the business of selling; I’m in the business of trusting. It’s much more inspiring, more relaxing, and more rewarding.

I chose to become a Coach as my own personal contribution to help make this world a better place, one person at a time – I trust you’ll like this approach.
